I needed some basket legs, so I drafted up a pattern and three days later had these perfectly crafted oak legs in my grasp. He&#8217;s a wood-turning master, ladies and gentlemen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"basket materials\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/5540069791\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5253\/5540069791_7cdfce8647_z.jpg\" alt=\"basket materials\" width=\"576\" height=\"376\" \/><\/a>Along with some reeds and some oak handles stained to match, I had all the materials I needed to make a wool-drying basket.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"weaving\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/5540654714\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5180\/5540654714_20fa44d408_z.jpg\" alt=\"weaving\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a>Wool-drying baskets are exactly what you think they are: baskets used for drying wool; usually woven in a plain weave and elevated on wooden legs that allow for extra air flow. The pattern I used was a twill weave, and it was both easier to weave and more beautiful than I expected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"yarn-filled basket\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/5540652246\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5092\/5540652246_631a96199e_z.jpg\" alt=\"yarn-filled basket\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a>While I don&#8217;t need it for drying wool, it&#8217;s perfect for holding all the yarn that used to be awkwardly wedged into the shelf where I keep all my craft supplies.
