If I didn&#8217;t know better, I&#8217;d say this is some kind of cruel April fool&#8217;s prank. Unfortunately, I won&#8217;t wake up tomorrow to sun and warmer temperatures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"rolling dough\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/5577590334\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5148\/5577590334_f9dd1435ac_z.jpg\" alt=\"rolling dough\" width=\"512\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a>Fortunately, I know the cure for unseasonable cold temperatures: baked goods. So, I made some rugelach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"spreading jam\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/5577009085\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5105\/5577009085_9da416f750_z.jpg\" alt=\"spreading jam\" width=\"512\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a>I used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epicurious.com\/recipes\/food\/views\/Rugelach-109475\" target=\"_blank\">this recipe<\/a>, and apart from omitting the raisins and adding a few dashes of nutmeg, I followed it pretty closely. They tasted almost exactly like the rugelach my mom used to bring home from Sam&#8217;s when I was younger.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"rugelach out of the oven\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/5577600770\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5143\/5577600770_52a18f5d01_z.jpg\" alt=\"rugelach out of the oven\" width=\"512\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a>They take some time to make, but they are heavenly right out of the oven and quite delicious the next morning with a cup of tea.
