It&#8217;s crazy that it&#8217;s only been two years since I got to marry my favorite person ever, because it feels like we&#8217;ve been married years and years. The traditional second-anniversary gift is cotton, so I pulled down a yard of blue broadcloth and put this together:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"year two- cotton\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/childerhouseblog\/6070870146\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6195\/6070870146_00f4086d14_z.jpg\" alt=\"year two- cotton\" width=\"346\" height=\"518\" \/><\/a>I don&#8217;t think it quite topped the <a href=\"https:\/\/childerhouseblog.com\/?p=69\" target=\"_blank\">paper iphone<\/a>, but I like how it turned out. The center of the ribbon is attached with velcro, so I can easily swap it out for another phrase. Maybe I&#8217;ll make one that says, &#8220;Great job!&#8221; in case he picks up his socks. Just kidding, dear!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Our anniversary was mostly spent being lazy together, especially since it was Nick&#8217;s first day off from working three different jobs and preparing for <a href=\"http:\/\/penrosebontrager.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">this<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/uas.osu.edu\/exhibition\/control\" target=\"_blank\">show<\/a> in a long, long time. We also did probably the first touristy thing we&#8217;ve done since moving to Ohio, and visited a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.olentangyindiancaverns.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">cave<\/a>. It was perfectly cheesy, and I bought a couple of loose arrowheads from the gift shop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"arrowheads\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/childerhouseblog\/6070876358\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6067\/6070876358_c5d7e41cc2_z.jpg\" alt=\"arrowheads\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a>I used a little bit of leather cord and a brass chain to turn one into a necklace. I have been wearing it constantly. Of course, it doubles both as an accessory and survival tool, should I ever become lost in the wilderness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"arrowhead necklace\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/childerhouseblog\/6070863186\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6199\/6070863186_194facb8b0_z.jpg\" alt=\"arrowhead necklace\" width=\"384\" height=\"576\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two weeks ago was our two year anniversary.
