I&#8217;ve been laboring away on christmas presents, because in less than a month, I will <strong>finally<\/strong> be back in my home state of Texas! Words can&#8217;t express how excited I am to see my family and eat all the delicious food I&#8217;ve been missing! In my haste to finish everything, I forgot about a couple of posts I promised <a href=\"https:\/\/childerhouseblog.com\/?p=227\" target=\"_blank\">forever ago<\/a>. At long last, I&#8217;ll reveal the birthday presents I made my siblings and delivered months late. I give you&#8230; leather kindle cases:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"leather kindle cases\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/childerhouseblog\/6364002059\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6240\/6364002059_f470496408_z.jpg\" alt=\"leather kindle cases\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s always much harder to think of homemade gift ideas for boys. Unlike girls, you can&#8217;t just make them something pretty&#8211; it&#8217;s got to be functional, too. So, armed with the knowledge that both brothers were kindle owners, I set about designing and making a couple of cases that would look handsome and manly as they protected kindles. Both are crafted from a single piece of leather, are hand-stitched, and are secured with a buckle from a thrifted belt. Each is lined with different color of seersucker, so they are easily distinguishable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"seersucker insides\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/childerhouseblog\/6363987797\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6116\/6363987797_36b5fa501f_z.jpg\" alt=\"seersucker insides\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a>Hopefully, they will get the job done and will look cool doing it.
