They are based on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burdastyle.com\/patterns\/marilyn-trousers\" target=\"_blank\">this pattern<\/a> from burda style. I&#8217;ve used this pattern before to make some black linen pants, and it is pretty swell if you are looking for something high-waisted. They&#8217;re meant to fit really loose, so I took them down a size, and they fit perfectly. The only downside to pleated silk shorts is they poof up in an awkward way when I sit down, so I will probably try to only wear them to events where I will not be sitting. Ha! Still, I am excited to wear them! So many of the high-waisted shorts in stores (including a few pairs I own) are crazy short, so I&#8217;m glad to have a more conservative option.
