I had half a dozen kolaches, twelve bad hair days (ugh, humidity!), and more sushi in one sitting than I think I&#8217;ve ever had before. I ate so much at every meal, in fact, that I didn&#8217;t really feel hungry for 6 straight days. Texas food will do that to you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"You don't see clouds like this in Ohio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/4961284454\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4083\/4961284454_2c7e6fbe6a.jpg\" alt=\"You don't see clouds like this in Ohio\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We brought Nick&#8217;s DSLR and two film cameras, and still only managed to take pictures with our cell phones. But really, I couldn&#8217;t pass up a shot of that sky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"Downtown\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/4961273606\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4134\/4961273606_4108ef82a0.jpg\" alt=\"Houston\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Anyone that has spoken to me at all in the past year (especially Nick) has probably heard me complain about the state of Columbus grocery stores, so the trip wouldn&#8217;t have been complete without a couple stops at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fiestamart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fiesta<\/a>, The Best Grocery Store of All Time. I picked up a few things I&#8217;ve been doing without in Ohio: muscovado, pearl sugar, grey sea salt, and of course, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Costena-Home-Style-Mexican-Salsa\/dp\/B0002FGHPA\" target=\"_blank\">La Costena Home Style Mexican Salsa<\/a>. I also scored about a foot and a quarter&#8217;s worth of some amazing records, which I safely transported back to Ohio between the layers of clothes in my bulging suitcase (thanks, Lou!). The best acquisition of the trip was probably a present from my sister:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"ghost\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9696222@N02\/4961037585\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4115\/4961037585_1b2ba3de94.jpg\" alt=\"ghost\" width=\"360\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a>Now I just have to find a frame and a place to hang it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We just got back from a vacation to our home state.
